What’s your great story?

Writing Your Story Doesn’t Mean You Need to Write a Bestselling Novel!

People often think they must write a book if they want to pen their personal and family stories. This isn’t true. Your stories are your own, and they can be as short or lengthy as you want them to be. Create an electronic document, write them in a notebook, or scribble them on a napkin if you have to. Just write them down! Share them with family and friends or keep them for your own private record—it’s up to you.

Want to capture your family’s stories but feel you lack the writing ability to do so? Don’t let this prevent you from saving those precious memories! If you aren’t confident in your writing ability, try audio recording your stories. You can use your cell phone or tablet to do this from virtually anywhere. Consider recording your family members sharing their stories as well. It’s easy to get audio recordings transcribed using voice transcription software tools such as Otter.ai.

Chronicling our experiences allows us to share acquired wisdom with others. A wise teacher once told me everyone has at least one great story within them. I believe this wholeheartedly. You don’t need me, or a business like mine to write your great story. There are tons of online resources to help you do it yourself.

Having said that, if you have the interest but lack the time or inclination to write your personal or family story, Book Mouse Writing & Editing Services might be just what you need. We will help you bring your stories to life.
